A serendipitous day we'll never forget, along with the night before when James tapped on our summer screen and said, "Hey, we're going to Calevaras tomorrow, do you want to come?" Kai liked when we watched the centipede. And when he played life savers with George. And when Kai touched that sap. And the gorgeous morels we saw and couldn't take home with us. The immensity of these trees didn't strike me until I saw these pictures. Kai hiked over 5 MILES! And Nina at least 2 out of the pack.
